In 2023, an article covering the Sea King helicopter in service with the German Naval Aviation was published on this website, that can be found here. For the type's retirement, Sea King 89+58 received a special farewell colour scheme to mark the occasion. In May 2024, aviationreview.online joined an air-to-air photo flight in which not only this particular helicopter participated, but Sea King 89+63 joined as well. This one sported a special retro colour scheme, applied in 2023. Even an NH90 Sea Lion briefly joined the party; this type has replaced the Sea King with Marinefliegergeschwader 5 in the Search-and-Rescue role.
